EVGENIY ZHILIN was born in 1939 in Gomel, Republic of Belarus In 1966 he graduated from the Minsk art school and in 1971 from the Belarus State Drama and Art Institute. From 1972 to 1975 he worked as a lecturer in drawing and painting at this institute.
Since 1967 Zhilin has illustrated more than 25 books for children, the majority of which where awarded diplomas at the Republican and all-Union competitions. In 1974 he became a member of the Belarus Artists Union. He has been a regular participant in the Republican Art Exhibitions.
Zhilin's graphics and watercolors have been shown widely by galleries in Poland, Greece, Italy and Switzerland. His paintings can be found in the collections of the Belarus State Art Museum, in the gallery of the Belarus State Artists Union, in other galleries in the Republic of Belarus and Russia.\
His works have been acquired by private collections in Poland, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and the USA.
